Welcome to the Stackpool House For Sale Page!
We are glad that you are here, this is a real opportunity to own a piece of history as well as an amazing getaway in a beautiful part of California. Maybe you will even find some gold while you are there.
The Stackpool house was built in 1910 and occupied by real gold prospectors. It is a registered part of Californian history, and is therefore very special indeed. In 2007 it was purchased by Volker Ackermann at the behest of his friend, an architect, who had fallen in love with the area and meticulously restored another house on Water street, The Porch House. Volker and the Architect worked very diligently to create a plan for the Stackpool House restoration project for the next year.
It has taken another 4 years and a lot of rewriting the plans to have them approved by both the Forest Department and the Historical Society. Through this time, available time and funding to undertake the restoration project have found their ways to other projects, and the decision was made regrettably to sell the house and its now approved plans to a lucky buyer.
Volker is hoping that someone in the community of Forest City enthusiasts or Mountain Bikers who love this place so much will choose to undertake the project.
This is a really special place, and a very special opportunity. Because it is so special and close to our hearts, we would like to speak directly to any and all interested parties to answer questions and start a dialogue about how to save this gem from the ravages of time and restore it to live for another 102 years as a testament to the beauty of the place.
The Stackpool House enjoys a special dispensation as it lies on Forest Department land. That means that there is no property tax, but rather a use permit, issued once every 10 years, and payable at the rate of $150 per six month period. Included in this purchase are all of the professional plans developed and approved for the restoration project and water rights to the mountain spring nearby.
The plans are viewable by following the links below (you will need to click on the link in the next page that shows up as well) Also contained below are the letters indicating project and septic approval (no small feat) and the flyer for the sale of the property.
Please do not hesitate to contact Volker to discuss this very rare opportunity.
